vast, empty, white, mysterious!
And like Amitabh Bachchan ji said “Kutch nahi dekha toh kuch nai dekha”
Kutch means “that which intermittently becomes wet and dry”. Geographically, Kutch is a district in the state of Gujarat and is best known for the Rann which forms the northern perimeter of the district and also shares a border with Pakistan.
The Rann of Kutch or the White Desert or Safed Rann is a massive expanse of cracked earth inland from the sea. It remains submerged in water for the major part of the year. Come winter however, the water has evaporated and what remains is marshland. Vast expanses of just plain white salt over marshy land and nothing else. The Safed Rann truly depicts the power and beauty of nature.

The best way to witness the White Rann of Kutch in Gujarat is to get going to the Rann Utsav. This is a yearly festival held from late October onwards till February and promises amazing sights, incredible food, and so much culture.
