I’ve been a crazy reader of fiction for as long as I can remember. A good spine chilling thriller which keeps you awake and alert, turning the pages till the last word of the book.
I was introduced to Nancy Drew by the school librarian and there was no turning back from there. Although I do not remember the exact book which was my favourite, I do remember reading every single Nancy Drew book there was in the library over and over again till I outgrew that section altogether.
Reading at home was quite a feat though. The conventional Indian parents expectations were obviously a 95% and higher in every exam and that meant staying glued to the syllabus books every waking hour.
But Lady Drew gave me enough courage to stay glued to her stories. I had the brilliant idea of using temporary syllabus book covers for my prized possessions. So while my parents thought I was mugging up history and geography, and solving equations, I was actually unravelling mysteries with Nancy, Bess and George. (Sorry mum, dad!)

This picture is from 2018. And I think my expeditions with Miss Drew were circa 1996.
27 years later, I still dream of unravelling mysteries the Nancy Drew style.
Well, I Miss Drew!
